A Birder's Guide to Coastal Washington is Bob Morse's fifth birding guide. His other works include: A Birder's Guide to Ocean Shores (out of print but included in A Birder's Guide to Coastal Washington), Bob's Guide for Beginning Birders, Birds of Wapato Point, and Ken Lake Birdlife.
Morse has authored numerous articles for American Birding Association, Washington Ornithological Society, and Washington Birder on birding coastal Washington, bird migration, and locating some of the more difficult avian species.
Morse started bird watching when he was 12 had has birded extensively throughout the United States. He has recorded over 825 different bird species in the US and over 406 in Washington alone. He is compiler of the Grays Harbor Christmas Bird Count and developed a long-term fondness of the coast when he authored A Birder's Guide to Ocean Shores in 1994.
