Parks & Gardens

The South Coast has a fair amount of pasturelands, open fields, and farmlands, some for dairy animals, and others for agricultural and recreational uses. Puget Island, south of Cathlamet, is a good example of open fields with borders of brushy thickets, and occasional ponds and sloughs. Other examples are the Ocean Shores Golf Course, Damon Point, Monte Brady Loop Road, Wenzel Slough Road in Elma, the lower end of the Wynoochee Valley Road, the fields along the Palix River, and Chinook Valley Road.
